The Russian Defense Ministry announced this Friday that it has destroyed an oil refinery in the Poltava region of eastern Ukraine, on the 79th day of the military invasion of the neighboring country.
Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said that the refinery, which is located in the city of Kremenchug, was a main source of oil for the Ukrainian Army and was destroyed with “high-precision sea and air-launched missiles.”
“The long-range, high-precision missiles have destroyed oil production and have hit storage areas for gasoline and diesel, fuels destined to supply the Ukrainian troops,” he said, according to information from the Russian news agency Interfax.
In total, since the beginning of the special operation, 165 combat aircraft, 125 helicopters, 842 drones, 304 missile launchers were destroyed.
Also, he pointed out that the Russian Air Force has hit 153 military assembly areas of the Ukrainian Army.
“Two Ukrainian rocket launch facilities and systems, as well as radars, have also been destroyed,” Konashenkov was quoted as saying by the Europa Press news agency.
The spokesman explained that several weapons depots in the Kharkov region and six artillery units have also been destroyed. In addition, in the last hours the Russian forces shot down a Su-27 fighter.
According to the daily balance presented by the Russian government, so far in the war, its own forces have destroyed 842 Ukrainian drones.
“In total since the start of the special operation, 165 fighter jets, 125 helicopters, 842 drones, 304 missile launchers were destroyed,” the spokesman said, according to the Sputnik news agency.
Russian forces, he added, also destroyed 3,032 tanks and other armor, as well as 368 rocket launchers. multiple guns, 1,491 cannons and mortars, and 2,869 military vehicles.
