Hybrid work: How to enhance the skills and competencies of workers?

With the progressive return of some sectors to the workplace, and with the aim of providing a suitable start in various companies, a new modality was established: hybrid work. Through this option, it will be possible to carry out face-to-face and at the same time remote work from home, thus, returning to the offices will not become a tedious and inefficient process.

For this reason, the specialist and director of the Great Home consultancy, Sylvia Álvarez Calderón, offers some recommendations to enhance the skills and competencies of workers in this new modality:

  • Boss leadership: In every company, it is vital to have agile leadership from the bosses or directors, since that will make a difference when they have half the team in the offices in person and the other half at home doing remote work. Good leadership management will provide stability and help your team members perform in an organized manner.
  • Teamwork: When starting in this new modality, collaborators should be made aware of what hybrid work is and bring them together to build the decalogue of work in their company. Working together, incorporating their proposals and ideas will make this modality more effective and productive.
  • Skill development: the development of new professional skills and the management of emotional skills also collaborate to make this new way of working possible. It is vital to train the team in each area so as not to lose that closeness and to be aware of the needs, demands and possibilities of each worker.
  • Reorganization of schedules: Returning to face-to-face work little by little will have a different impact according to each need, whether they live alone or have families to care for. A reorganization of schedules and tasks will be essential and will also require an understanding on the part of the members of the family.
