The Cuba Petróleo company (CUPET) announced that the fire that occurred this Wednesday, whose images circulate on social networks, occurred in a food store of the Guaicanamar Convention Center, in Regla, and that it was suffocated by firefighters.
The information that a fire broke out at the Ñico López Refinery, which continues its operations normally, is false, CUPET said on its official Facebook profile.
The Ministry of Energy and Mines also shared the news on the social network Twitter: the Ñico López refinery is operating without difficulty, the agency said in its message.
The Guaicanamar Convention Center belongs to the Petroleum Services Company (EMSERPET).
No injuries are reported.
The authorities are investigating the causes.
