The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) of Cuba reported that up to midnight on May 10, 96 new cases of COVID-19 in the country, thanks to the 5,341 samples analyzed during the day on Tuesday.
The most recent part The health agency also collects the death from this disease of a woman over 50 years of age and resident in Matanzas province, so the number of fatalities since the start of the pandemic rose to 8,529, which represents a mortality rate of 0.77%.

Currently, 2,071 people are admitted, of which 1,583 are suspected of having contracted the SARS-Cov-2 virus, another 24 under epidemiological surveillance, while 464 are confirmed active.
Of the total number of new cases, 95 were contacts of confirmed cases and one had his source of infection abroad. As for ages, 39 are infected under 20 years of age, another 14 are between 20 and 39 years old, while 10 are in the range between 40 and 59 years old, and 33 are over 60 years old.
Holguín, Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo did not report new cases on the day, while only Artemisa (16) exceeded the figure of 15 infections.
The Minsap also reports that the two evacuated at the beginning of the pandemic and the 57 returned to their countries remain, as well as the granting of 142 medical discharges on the day.
Among those hospitalized, seven patients are treated in intensive care units, two of them reported as critical and five in serious condition.
