The Senate will continue this Wednesdayin a plenary of commissions, with the discussion of the bills presented for modify the composition of the Supreme Court of Justice and increase the number of its representatives.
The new round of speakers will start at 1 pm in the Arturo Illia Hall of the Legislative Palace, where the members of the Constitutional Affairs and Justice and Criminal Affairs commissions will listen to four speakers.
As officially reported, will attend the hearing the comptroller of the Federal Penitentiary Service, María Laura Garrigós de Rébori; the adjunct professor of General Theory of Law at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Diego Duquelsky Gómez; the specialist in Criminal Law and former chamber judge of Jujuy René Casas; and the former Minister of Justice and Human Rights and member of the Council for the Strengthening of the Judiciary, León Arslanián.
The analyzed texts are Senators Alberto Weretilnek (Together We Are Río Negro), Adolfo Rodríguez Saá (FdT-San Luis), Silvia Sapag (FdT-Neuquén) and Clara Vega (There is a Future-La Rioja), and all propose greater federalism and appointment of judges by regions, as well as gender parity.
With the exception of the Vega project, the remaining three establish an increase in the number of members of the Supreme Court of between 9 and 16 members.
The project that generates the greatest adherence from Kirchnerism is that of Sapagwhich establishes a increase to 15 the number of judges and proposes to analyze the work history, the companies that integrated the applicants and the clients they had as lawyers.
