President Luis Abinader has not yet decided on reelection

Despite the constant rumors over one possible re-election of the president Louis Abinader, The president clarified this Tuesday that until now has not decided whether will reapply or not at presidential candidacy for the 2024 elections.

Abinader made these statements during an Open Forum held by the communicator Sergio Carlo through his YouTube channel. The president took the opportunity to explain that he will not modify the Constitution of the Dominican Republic in aspects that have to do with the elections or his decision on the subject, while downplaying the rumors that the Dominican Liberation Party and the Dominican Liberation Party Modern Revolutionary could reach an agreement to allow the modification to the Magna Carta.

However, the president did not specify whether the possibility of being re-elected was ruled out, making it clear that up to now he has not made a decision in favor or against that intention.

Abinader said that he is focused on working 16 hours a day in order to achieve the well-being of Dominican society.

The president talked about this and other issues with the communicator Sergio Carlo for an hour and a half, where he also answered some questions from users of this digital platform.
