Presidential candidate Gustavo Petro spoke in the same vein through his Twitter account, assuring that there is a coup d’état and asking the citizens and the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights to defend the popular vote.

“Coup d’état in Medellin. I ask all citizens and the @IACHR to defend the popular vote. The attorney general cannot evade the popular mandate”said candidate Gustavo Petro.

Candidate Petro also recalled when he was suspended when he was mayor of Bogotá and recalled the decision that the IACHR adopted as a precautionary measure at the time, in which it stated that an administrative body cannot suspend the effects of the citizen vote.

“A fascist prosecutor already suspended me as mayor and the sentence of the @IACHR was blunt: an administrative body cannot suspend the effects of the citizen vote. The prosecutor, seeking to help Duque’s presidential candidate, has broken the American Convention,” candidate Gustavo Petro finally said in another trill.
