In Chiapas, the FGR rescues 43 migrants

Adjustments in 44% of the first circle of the President

San Cristóbal De Las Casas, Chis., Federal authorities rescued 43 Central American migrants and arrested an alleged human trafficker in the municipality of Ocozocoautla, reported the state delegation of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR). In a statement, it reported that the 43 undocumented immigrants –38 from Guatemala and five from El Salvador–, they were inside a warehouse with a plastic canvas roof and sides.

Derived from a citizen complaint, the FGR, through the Specialized Prosecutor for Regional Control of Chiapas, complied with a search warrant from the control judge of the Federal Criminal Justice Center for the rescue of the 43 foreigners who were in suffering conditions.

The Federal Public Ministry, the Federal Ministerial Police, the National Guard and elements of the National Defense participated in the search.

The authorities detained Rodrigo N at the scene and seized a cell phone, paper wrappers with suspected marijuana and a motorcycle. The undocumented were sent to the National Migration Institute (INM) in Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
