Beca 18: modalities and requirements to apply if you are in your fifth year of secondary school or have already graduated

The National Program of Scholarships and Educational Credit (Pronabec), attached to the Ministry of Education, reported that the 2023 call for Scholarship 18 will soon be launched, aimed at fifth-year high school students or high school graduates with high academic performance, who live in difficult situations. of poverty or vulnerability.

Pronabec emphasizes that one of the requirements to apply for Beca 18 is to prove high academic performance in the last two years of high school. For example, students in the fifth year of secondary school must have achieved good grades in the third and fourth year of secondary school; while a college graduate, in fourth and fifth average.

What does Beca 18 cover?

This benefit covers from academic costs to maintenance of the winning student. That is, tuition, student fees (when applicable), stationery, local mobility, food, accommodation (when applicable), laptop, administrative costs for obtaining the degree and/or qualification, academic, socio-emotional and well-being support, among other benefits.

The scholarship is offered to talents with limited economic resources or in vulnerable conditions the opportunity to study a career in the best universities, institutes or higher schools in the countrywith all expenses covered by the Peruvian State.

What are the modalities to apply?

Although the bases for the 2023 call have not yet been published, it is important to remember that the contest Beca 18 considers eight application modalities for specific audiences:

Scholarship 18 Ordinary: aimed at talents who are in a situation of poverty or extreme poverty, according to the Household Targeting System (Sisfoh) of the Midis (Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion).

EIB Scholarship: for those who want to study Bilingual Intercultural Education and master a native language.

Hostel Scholarship: aimed at talents in a situation of abandonment or protected by the State.

Repared Scholarship: for victims of the violence that occurred in the country during the years 1980-2000.

CNA and PA Scholarship: for talents that belong to a Native Amazon Community (CNA) or an Afro-Peruvian Population (PA), registered in the Ministry of Culture.

FF Scholarship. AA.: for graduates of the Voluntary Military Service.

Vraem Scholarship: for talented residents in the districts of the Valley of the Apurimac, Ene and Mantaro rivers.

Huallaga Scholarship: for talented residents in the districts of the Huallaga area.
