This is the new Payment Parking Zone in Bogotá

The third area of ​​implementation of the Paid Parking Zones (ZPP), which will extend from 45th Street to 72nd Street, between Caracas Avenue and Second Avenue, came into operation this May 10 with the purpose of continuing to improve mobility and organize public space in the town of Chapinero.

This was announced by the District Secretary of Mobility, Felipe Ramírez, who explained that “We continue to make progress in the implementation of the Payment Parking Zones, a project that adds to the recovery of public space and that is articulated with other initiatives developed by the District Administration to transform behaviors related to the poor parking of vehicles on the road public policy and decision-making based on the common good”.

For the third parking zone, citizens can make use of the authorized parking spaces of Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

In his turn, the manager (e) of the Bogotá Transport Terminal, Eduardo González, pointed out that “More than 170,000 users have benefited from the Paid Parking Zones. With the entry into operation of this third area, we continue to consolidate a city project that promotes the use of public space for the benefit of all”.

Rates in area 3 are $2,800 for car and $2,000 for moto per fraction of 30 minutes, if the stay is up to 2 hours. If the parking lot is longer than 2 hours, the rates will be $4,300 for vehicles and $3,000 for motorcycles for a fraction of 30 minutes.

In addition to contributing to the ordering of public space, more than 150 new jobs have been generated through the Paid Parking Zones, thus allowing the job formalization of vehicle caretakers, who through a process of characterization and labor inclusion, have the possibility of having a job with all the legal guaranteesGonzalez said.

SELF-MANAGEMENT WITH THE PAYMENT PARKING ZONE APP – CITIZEN

through the Payment Parking Zone app – Citizen, available for iOS and Android, users will be able to manage their parking and pay in advance easily and safely. Likewise, from anywhere they can add parking time before it expires.

Users who park their vehicle in a Pay Parking Zone from Monday to Friday between 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm and Saturdays between 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm must make the payment autonomously through the app. for fractions of 30 minutes, otherwise, The vehicle will be fitted with a stock-type tire immobilizer.

95% of payments for the use of parking spaces have been made in cash and 5% through the app.

The Payment Parking Zones are operated by the Bogota Transportation Terminal and will extend to 17 areas of the city.
