Laura Vita, a Colombian journalist and editor-in-chief of the newspaper La República de Bogotá, reported that the Prosecutor’s Office and the Police have not yet ruled on the attack.
However, he reported that the area of the Barú peninsula, located in the city of Cartagena, does not usually register attacks like this.
“In Colombia it was known 20 minutes ago. That area is the one that receives the most foreigners. In Barú it was murder. There is a lot of exclusive tourism. The beaches are fantastic,” she commented.
He related that cases of insecurity have always occurred, but not of homicides.
“Cartagena, as it is a tourist area, always registers robberies, robberies, but not homicides.”
Finally, he said that the presence of the Sinaloa cartels is not registered in the place.
