The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, congratulated Russia on the 77th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany.
Through his Twitter account, the Head of State expressed that Venezuela celebrates together with Russia this important date for the freedom of Europe and the world.
He also extended a hug to Russian President Vladimir Putin and to all those who fought.
«Venezuela celebrates 77 years of victory over Nazi Germany, in the Great Patriotic War. Our hug to the Russian people and President Vladimir Putin, heirs of the men and women who liberated Europe and the world from the Nazi-fascist threat that today intends to resurface », she published on the social network.
This Monday Russia celebrates 77 years of victory against Nazi Germany with a traditional parade of Russian troops held in Red Square in Moscow.
The parade began with the march of the Honor Guard banner group carrying the Russian national flag and the legendary Victory Banner raised over the Reichstag by soldiers of the Soviet 150th Idritskaya Rifle Division in May 1945.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, war veterans and guests watched the parade from the central checkpoint on Red Square.
