In addition, they denounce that the government has granted some permits through the Customs Authority, so that Nicaraguan truckers take out the mechanical games that were in a fair in the district of La Chorrera, thus affecting the economy of Panamanian truckers.

For two consecutive days, the Organization of Unitary Truckers and Trailer Drivers of Panama has held a protest on the border between Panama and Costa Rica, in Paso Canoas.

These drivers, who started the demonstration on Sunday, May 8, do not allow the passage of trucks from Costa Rica to Panama. They ask the government to sit down and talk to take “very definite” measures on the price of fuel in order to provide services.

In addition, they denounce that the government has granted some permits through the Customs Authority, so that Nicaraguan truckers take out the mechanical games that were in a fair in the district of La Chorrera, thus affecting the economy of Panamanian truckers.

Truckers have also requested free entry to the Colon Free Zone, so they also want to meet with the manager of this free zone.

The leaders of freight transport ask the government that the agreement of the four points be in writing so that it is not forgotten, on this it depends if the strike continues or stops.

They assure that the activity has become unsustainable due to the rise in fuel prices.
