Traffic jams go a long way: The years that Bogotá will last under construction, according to Claudia López

Mobility in Bogotá is becoming more complex, not only because more and more people are buying a new car, but also because of the numerous construction fronts that are currently being carried out in the city. In turn, the work on the city’s road network – another major headache for citizens – has added to the limitation in the free flow of vehicles.

Despite the fact that since this year the pick and plate has been implemented all day in the city, the measures do not seem effective, since daily traffic jams are recorded in which Bogotans can take up to two or three hours to get to their places. work and return to their homes. However, the panorama of the works in the city and the frequent closures in the main roads of the capital, do not seem to be clear.

According to the mayor claudia lopez, Bogotá could take at least 10 more years to complete, taking into account that the construction of the Bogotá Metro, several TransMilenium that will be feeders of this, extensions of roads, among others.
