Religiosos apoyan candidato George Álvarez Asamblea Estatal distrito 78 Bronx

NEW YORK.- Dozens of religious belonging to the “Front of Dominican Leaders & Ministers” endorsed this weekend the Dominican George Álvarez, candidate for the State Assembly for the 78th district in the Bronx.

During a crowded event at the “To God Be The Glory” Temple, located at 229 E. 118th Street, between Second and Third Avenues in Manhattan, the bishops and pastors who represent hundreds of believers in the area for which he aspires Álvarez, promised to present to their parishioners how beneficial it would be for the community if the Dominican is elected.

Reverend Héctor Castillo, who heads the organization, said “we commit ourselves to our family, friends, relatives and parishioners to work in favor of Álvarez, to ask him to vote for him, because he is a man of the people who is attached to the principles of the community, always concerned about the less wealthy and the centers for the elderly”.

“Likewise, it is closely linked to the cultural, social and political issues of our community, giving it the face to guide its fellow citizens along the best path, in trying to solve the problems that affect our people in that sense,” he specified.

For his part, Álvarez, when giving thanks, showed his bible and focused on a biblical landscape. He said he felt hopeful in the word of the Christians of faith, “as you are, that you will fight for our candidacy, because it is the same to fight for your own well-being.”

Among the attendees were Bishop Domingo Vásquez, Pastors Percido Garcet, Marcos Puchú, Elena Castillo, José Mateo, Nelson Martínez, Julia Feliz Familia and Rafael Israel, among others.
