The majority of the BPS board resolved that the differential adjustment received in July of last year by retirees and pensioners who earn less does not have to be paid more.
This is a change with respect to what was done in the last 16 years that harms the minimum passivities, those that need the most.
The director in office for the liabilities Ariel Ferrari and the director of the workers Ramón Ruiz did not support this change.
With this measure, some 10 million dollars will be saved in 2022, harming 146,098 retirees and pensioners who receive a minimum passivity, those who earn less.

71.27% of those affected are from the interior and almost a third (28.73%) live in Montevideo.

Those affected are 146,098 passive (56,545 men and 89,553 women).
Causal:
The following beneficiaries suffer this reduction: -80,293 old-age benefits
– 35,003 for old age – 18,773 disability pensions.
Membership:
Approximately half of the injured 73,597 are former Industry and Commerce contributors; 42,714 are from the rural sector and 25,238 from the domestic sector; the rest of the public sector.
Link type:
This reduction of the minimum liabilities punishes 96,358 former dependent workers and 37,711 employers.
