To avoid risks to the health of the population, the Churcampa Health Network, in coordination with the Police and the municipality, carried out health surveillance in the first months of this year at more than 160 commercial establishments in the province in question, the region Huancavelica.
The multisectoral operation was directed at stores, warehouses, restaurants, drugstores and other establishments in order to prevent the sale of beverages and food that do not meet the appropriate marketing conditions, which may expose people’s health.
According to the registry managed by the Food Safety Area of the Network, during the sanitary surveillance, until yesterday they detected 60 establishments that failed to comply with sanitary regulations, including products that did not have the sanitary registry or were expired and food in poor condition. .
Given this, the health sector issued recommendations to the owners of commercial establishments in order to ensure the sanitary quality and safety of staple foods and beverages for human consumption and establish operational requirements, good handling practices, conditions hygienic-sanitary and minimum infrastructure that must be faithfully complied with.
It should be noted that the activity is carried out in compliance with Law No. 1062 on Food Safety and its regulations established in Supreme Decree (DS) No. 034-2018-AG; also in Law No. 27972 – Organic Law of Municipalities; and in Ministerial Resolution No. 0014-92-SA/DM on the sanitary standard for the sale of food on public roads.
