Director of Civil Aeronautics of Colombia highlights advances in aviation in the DR

Director Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia resalta avances de la aviación en RD

LAS AMERICAS AIRPORT.-The general director of Civil Aeronautics of Colombia, Jair Orlando Fajardo, highlighted the progress made by Dominican civil aviation as a fundamental platform to support the country’s tourism development.

Fajardo, who is visiting the Dominican Republic, spoke after touring the facilities of the Punta Caucedo Aeronautical Complex and the Superior Academy of Aeronautical Sciences (ASCA), accompanied by the Acting Director General of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC) Hector Porcella.

The Colombian official praised the quality of the equipment and the operating platform with which the Dominican technicians operate in the Air Traffic Control Center located in the Norge Botello complex, as well as the cutting-edge technology that supports the training work carried out by the ASCUS.

Porcella, who led the guided tour of Fajardo, stated that technical training and operational safety currently represent the main priorities of IDAC’s management to ensure the sustainability of advances in civil aviation in the Dominican Republic.

Along with Porcella, Fajardo was accompanied by the Director of Air Navigation, Claudia Roa; the Director of Flight Regulations, Pedro Alberto Piña; the director of the ASCA, Clara Fernández; Julio César Mejía, technical coordinator of the Air Navigation Directorate; and Rafael Reyes, general manager of Airport Teams Solutions, SRL, who offered explanations about their respective areas of responsibility.

While Fajardo was accompanied by his wife Lina María Muñoz and Frederic CUQ, Civil Business account manager for the Thales company, based in Colombia.
