Liverpool managed to equalize thanks to a shot from Colombian Luis Díaz (74′) but were unable to achieve the victory that would have once again increased the pressure on Manchester City (momentarily 2nd).
Provisionally tied on points, those led by Jürgen Klopp will sleep on Saturday as leaders due to the best goal difference (+64 against +63 for City), but they will be able to give up first place on Sunday if Pep Guardiola’s team score against Newcastle in Miguel Almiron.
