Born in Poland, Krajcberg became a naturalized Brazilian and was a sculptor, painter, engraver and photographer. His work is very focused on exploring elements of nature and ecological activism, associating art and environmental protection: his sculptures, for example, are characterized by the use of charred trunks and roots collected in deforestation and burning.

The exhibition will mark the beginning of the works for the preservation, conservation and dissemination of the collection and the Sítio Natura, where he lived, which were donated by the artist to the government of Bahia. “Our team spent 16 days in Nova Viçosa collaborating with the IPAC team in carrying out the work of cataloging and recovering the works of Krajcberg and Sítio Natura. More than 40 people were involved, many from the region itself, in this great collective effort to preserve this important collection”, said Flavia Velloso, president of MuBE.

Krajcberg has already been the subject of the Expedições program, TV Brazilwhat can be seen on the internet. In an excerpt from the program, the artist defined his work as a cry from nature. “This is my life: screaming louder and louder against this barbarism that man practices,” he said.

More information about the exhibition and how the MuBE works can be obtained at museum website.
