With more than 1,430 million pesos, the Dominican government stops fuel increases for the week of May 7 to 13, as part of the measures to deal with the international price crisis, avoiding increases in the local market for up to 120 pesos. .
The measure was announced by the deputy minister of internal trade, Ramón Pérez Fermín, who explained that the average price of Petroleum rose this week significantly. As of Wednesday, April 27, the international price of WTI averaged 105.09 dollars, for an increase of 3.4% compared to the average of the previous week, which amounted to 101.62 dollars.
Therefore, the gpremium asolina will be sold at 293.60 pesos per gallon, maintaining its price. Instead, the gRegular gasoline will be sold to the public at 274.50 pesos per gallon, thus maintaining its price.
Likewise, regular diesel will maintain its price at 221.60 pesos per gallon; the GOptimum asoil will be shipped at 241.10 pesos per gallon, and maintains its price.
Refering tovtur, this fuel goes on to cost 298.91 pesos per gallon, after registering an increase of 21.68 pesos; also, the kerosene will be available to the public at 338.10 pesos per gallon. The price of this last fuel rose 23.50 pesos.
Meanwhile, the fOil #6 will maintain its price at 192.11 pesos per gallon; the fFuel oil 1%S also maintains its price at 211.77 pesos per galon.
The liquefied gas Petroleum (LPG) will continue at 147.60 pesos per gallon and the gas natural remains at 28.97 pesos per meter cubic.
“The global situation is obviously not giving up. The conflict in Ukraine is spreading without an apparent end, and everything indicates that there will be no peace agreement for several weeks or months. In view of this, we must be properly prepared, with constant communication to the population, and, above all, adjusting public finances to prevent market increases from having a direct impact on the pockets of all Dominicans,” said the deputy minister.
He assured that the government is constantly monitoring the situation of international markets to resist the global effects on the local economy.
He mentioned that if the subsidies were not maintained, the country would see increases that had never occurred before. He said that, in the case of LPG, it should have risen 12.80 pesos per gallon, premium gasoline more than 54 pesos per gallon and regular more than 62 pesos per gallon, and in the case of diesel 120 pesos.
