Bolsonaro and Guyana President Mohamed Irfaan Ali discussed topics such as trade and investment, infrastructure, energy and cooperation in defense and security, as well as regional and global issues. The meeting was held in Georgetown, the capital of Guyana.

According to President Jair Bolsonaro, Brazilian businessmen are interested in investing in the neighboring country. In the coming weeks, a bilateral virtual seminar should be held, involving the business communities of both countries, to be coordinated, on the Brazilian side, by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), with a focus on new opportunities in the sector. of oil and gas.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, bilateral exchanges between Brazil and Guyana more than doubled in the last two years, from approximately USD 58 million in 2020 to USD 118.6 million in 2021.
