The departmental commander of the Police in Cochabamba, Colonel Rubén Lobatón, came out in defense of his brother and assured that there are no formal complaints in disciplinary instances of the Police or in ordinary courts and urged the “good police” to formalize those complaints.
“These good policemen who claim to be, they only hurt the police institution moreI ask you, if anyone knows of any crime being committed by a police officer, including me, they must file a corresponding complaint to initiate investigations and put an end to these situations once and for all,” he said.
Since the beginning of the yearhe Police is going through a series of internal conflicts with complaints of drug trafficking, theft and smuggling committed by high officials of the institution. The last case happened this week with a public complaint against police chiefs in Santa Cruz.
Lobatón reminded police officials that they can go to the Departmental Directorate of Police Investigation (Didipi), the Police Prosecutor’s Office, the Special Force to Fight Crime (Felcc) or the Public Ministry.
“I want to inform you that what appears on social networks are not formal complaints, If the people or police comrades of ours know of a criminal act, they must make a formal complaint,” he urged.
The police complaint also refers to two other police officersthose who would be assigned to Diprove de Sacaba, and the Highway Patrol, whom they accuse of carrying out armed operations, with the aim of search for undocumented vehicles to extort owners.
Meanwhile, in La Paz castling was confirmed in two national directions. Colonel Mario Medina, who was in charge of the Felcv at the national level, was sent to the National Traffic Directorate; while the Director of Transit, Colonel Fernando Bustillos, was transferred to the national office of the Felcv.
