The potato stopped being the most expensive food of the year after the last measurement of the IPC of the Dane. In the third position of the most expensive products in the first four months of the year is the yucca for household consumption, which has registered an increase of 54.8%.

The list of most expensive foods is completed by bananas, with 40.53%; the tomato, with 35%; the oranges, with 30.5%; the arracacha, yams and other tuberswith 25.25%; blackberries, with 24.23%; the ricewith 22.95% and the Fresh fruitswith 19.07%.

This strong variation in the cost of products, especially food, It has already led to this year, at the end of April, the cost of living exceeds the increase in the minimum wage (10.07%) for the segments of the population with lower incomes.

Thus, the annual variation of the CPI by income level was 11.26 percent for poor people and 11.07 percent for the vulnerable population, while for the middle class it reached 9.43 percent and in high income inflation runs at 7.46 percent through April.
