Overwhelmers leave the La Estrella property, pressured by the blockade and the subsequent action of the Police

Pressured by the presence of 700 police officers who arrived in the morning, after two days of blockades and with the entire community of San Antonio El Junte on vigil, the invaders settled on the La Estrella property –of which they indicate they have ownership rights – they left the place.

As of mid-afternoon this Friday, the 30 families that were settled, six from the area and the rest from San Julián, little by little collected their few belongings, They left their rustic homes and hit the road in search of vehicles for the transfer.

Zaida Ribera, one of the evicted, in communication with EL DEBER said that what is being done is an injustice, so you feel alone and helpless.

Rocío Margoth Gisbert, president of the blockade committee, said that an agreement was signed that contemplates that a police contingent will remain in place to prevent the invaders from returning; while the properties will remain in the custody of the company EMAPA, until the legal situation is fully defined.

The blockade point on the border with the department of Beni, installed by locals from San Antonio del Junte (Guarayos) against alleged foreign enslavement, was installed on Wednesday and intensified on Thursday.

The residents demanded that the peasants who settled illegally in the properties called ‘La Estrella’ be evicted, where Franklin Delgadillo lost his life on March 20, as a result of a confrontation.
