The National System of Internal Control of the Comptroller General of the Republic has been strengthened and modernized as a way to make the management of public resources of the State transparent, the comptroller said yesterday Catalina Correa.
When commemorating the 93rd anniversary of the institution, Correa pointed out that if the Internal Audit Units that operate in public institutions fulfill their function, corruption would be eliminated.
“We are fighting for transparency and efficiency in the management of public resources, for which we have carried out a great job carried out in the Comptroller’s Office,” he said.
He also said that they have worked in the process standardization and the expansion of the Internal Audit Units.
“Likewise, the consolidation of an Institutional Strategic Plan that today serves as a guide to the work of the CGR, aimed at providing a different Comptroller in 2024, as is the interest of the current government,” added the official.

Hician Strap highlighted the fruits of the hard work carried out in the Comptroller’s Office, among them: the strengthening of the National Internal Control System; the creation of the Anti-Fraud Unit; the standardization of processes; the expansion of the Internal Audit Units and the digitization of job certifications that put an end to the long lines of public servants and former public servants
Likewise, the consolidation of an Institutional Strategic Plan that today serves as a guide to the work of the CGR, aimed at providing a different Comptrollership in 2024, as is the interest of the current government.
“The success that we can exhibit at the head of this institution is due to the great multidisciplinary team that we have managed to form and that is the true deserving of merit and applause for what has been achieved,” emphasized the comptroller.
Likewise, he thanked the collaboration of the ministers, directors and other officials who have unconditionally been understanding and supportive of the Comptroller’s work.
