Donations to Cuba do not seem to improve the health situation
In recent months, Cuba has also received donations from countries such as Russia, the United States, Japan, China and Mexico.
However, hospital conditions remain dire and the population continues to be affected by the drug crisis.
In the month of April, a mother from Cienfuegos denounced through social networks the state of the children’s hemodialysis room in the hospital where her daughter was treated, in Villa Clara.
Along with some images that showed the deterioration of the place, the lady specified that the air conditioning had been broken for two weeks, so being a closed risk room, the patients and the staff who work there “were melting from the heat”, as well as exposing yourself to contracting bacteria.
In January of the current year, the columnist for CubaNet, Louis Cino, He denounced the precarious situation of the Havana hospital known as “Clínic of 26”, which he personally suffered because his aunt was admitted there with a fractured hip.
The journalist and writer, who accompanied his aunt, explained that the food was “slop”, and he spent two days without bathing due to lack of water.
Among other problems exposed by patients of this hospital, poor medical care, power outages, problems with food and other basic services are a constant.
In August 2021, Serafín Morán, a Cuban journalist based in Miami, reported that his maternal grandmother had died at the 26 Clinic due to lack of medical care.
