The second day without VAT of the year arrived. This Friday, November 19, a new day of discounts is developed, whose expectations are high after that during the first day, last October 28, sales of more than 9.8 billion pesos were achieved.

According to official reports, at 4 pm, they had been sold 7.99 billion pesos on the day without VAT. Of that money, 444,854 million pesos correspond to sales of digital channels.

The most billed categories were textiles, with an 86% growth compared to the first day without VAT, and sound and communication equipment and apparatus, with an increase of 54%.
Regarding digital commerce, it was reported that the platforms have had a performance “Excellent” and 7% more transactions have been registered than on October 28 (first day without VAT).
From Fenalco, for their part, they described the event as satisfactory and a “great national holiday”: “The expectations of the day have already been exceeded and the projection is that we reach or exceed the first. In addition, traffic in shopping centers increased and good citizen behavior is reported“.

During the first twelve hours of the second day without VAT in 2021, electronic invoicing in the country reached $ 3.1 trillion as reported by the National Tax and Customs Directorate, DIAN.

For his part, Linio reports an “intense” sales day in the first half of the second day without VAT.
“Between 00:00 hours and 7:00 am we saw a sales peak that exceeded 30 times what we sell on a normal day”.

At 8:22 am, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Ximena Lombana, delivered the first balance of the second day of the day without VAT, which indicates that sales through electronic invoicing amount to $ 334,279 million.

THE EXEMPTED PRODUCTS
Clothing items, such as shirts, jeans, jackets, briefcases, glasses, among others, with a value equal to or less than $ 726,160 (20 UVT) will be covered by the measure. The value is per unit.
Home appliances, computers and communications equipment are also covered on the second day without VAT. Applies to items that have a value equal to or less than $ 2,904,640 (80 UVT).

Sports items, toys and games are also part of the group of products exempt from the tax., but party, carnival and recreational items are not included; neither computer programs or software.
In the same way, school supplies – notebooks, pencils, educational software, for example – and goods and supplies for the agricultural sector – seeds, fertilizers, insecticides – will be exempt from VAT.
KEEP IN MIND
– You can purchase up to three units of the same product. Each of them will be discounted 19%. In addition, according to the standard, “When the covered goods are normally sold in pairs, it shall be understood that said pair corresponds to one unit.”
– If you wish to purchase a product, you can pay in cash or with debit and credit cards. You also have the possibility to go to other electronic payment mechanisms, such as PSE. In any case, the merchant must deliver the invoice in which the purchased goods and the value they have without the tax are evidenced.
– The VAT exemption only applies for the three established dates: October 28, November 19 and December 3. If you buy online or in person, you will have until 11:59 pm on the fixed day. When purchasing a product in the days prior to or following those agreed upon, the tax will not be discounted.
– The invoice for your purchases “It must be issued on the day on which the sale of said goods was made; if the sale is made by electronic commerce, the invoice must be issued no later than 11:59 pm on the day following the day without sales tax-VAT on which the sale was made “, says Law 2155 (Social Investment Law or tax reform).
– The goods purchased must be delivered or collected within the following two weeks, counted from the date on which the invoice or equivalent document was issued.
