The second vote for the Ombudsman revealed that the MAS candidate is the lawyer Pedro Callisaya Aro, who however did not achieve the two-thirds required to be elected. The favorite of the MAS party reached 82 votes on this occasion.
“Not having a candidate who achieves two thirds, a new vote must be carried out, but seeing the time an intermediate room is declared and the session will be convened with due anticipation”, said the vice president, David Choquehuanca before closing the session at 00:05 this Friday.
The opponents believe that this is the strategy of the MAS to reinstate this session at any time and force two-thirds of the parliamentarians present.
In the vote it was found that there is no coordination in the MAS caucus, because the ruling party has 96 legislators, but its candidate only got 82 votes.
The second most voted was the lawyer, Evelín Patricia Cossío Márquez, who got 47 votes, one more than the first time; while the third candidate who received the most votes was Porfirio Machado Gisbert with 11 votes. In this second vote, a vote appeared for Luisa Antonia Chipana Ubaras, who achieved only one preference.
White votes totaled 17 and there were six invalid voteswhich represents that there is dispersion in the decision of the legislators, since the scrutiny revealed that these numbers also varied with respect to the first vote.
In eight hours of voting there is no agreement, the parliamentarians try to speed up the process, but bureaucracy prevents faster in voting, counting and proclamation of results.
