Dataprev managed to avoid losses of R$ 47 billion to the public coffers

Responsible for processing the data of millions of Brazilians, DatavPrev is behind the success in cadastral analysis for assistance programs during the covid-19 pandemic. The assessment was made by the company’s president, Gustavo Canuto, who was interviewed today (5) on the The Voice of Brazil.Dataprev managed to avoid losses of R$ 47 billion to the public coffers

According to Canuto, only in 2021 did Dataprev process information and cross-reference data on beneficiaries, which resulted in the distribution of BRL 750 billion. Of this amount, R$ 600 billion only in social security benefits.

With the technology used, the company prevented the government from paying about R$47 billion to irregular registrations or those that did not comply with the rules of various benefits, such as emergency aid and Auxílio Brasil. To give you an idea, informed Canuto, “the amount is equivalent to three times what was invested in the transposition of the São Francisco River.”

Dataprev is also engaged in the digitization and automation of public services – one of the government’s main goals to reduce bureaucracy and expand access to quality public services. Canuto explained that new technologies for analyzing large volumes of data and crossing records allow a large part of the requirements in services – whether from Social Security, the Ministry of Citizenship, or related to work and employment – to be automated.

“Those simple cases, in which there is no doubt, must be done automatically, without going through the hands of an analyst, so that they can dedicate themselves to more complex cases. In 2019, we were able to automatically dispatch 4% of applications. Today, it rose to 28%,” he said.

Canuto also stressed that Dataprev currently significantly reduced its dependence on public funds in its annual budget and has recorded a profit – something unusual among state-owned companies. “Dataprev receives more from the private market than from public customers. This shows market penetration and ability to earn revenue. It is the private financing the quality public service.”

“The company is constantly concerned with absorbing cutting-edge technologies, but at the same time looking at how we can do better. Our institutional mission is precisely to provide digital solutions for the exercise of citizenship”, she added.
