The city of Ismael Cortinas has its Municipal Park completely renovated and equipped for the enjoyment of the entire population.
The works carried out had a total investment of about 10 million pesos and were financed jointly by the Municipality of Ismael Cortinas, the Municipality of Flores and the Interior Development Fund (FDI) of the Planning and Budget Office (OPP).
This emblematic city park is the one chosen to carry out all kinds of shows that are enjoyed by the citizens of Ismael Cortinas and nearby areas, mainly horse criollas, rein tests, among others.
During the inauguration ceremony, the departmental mayor of Flores, Fernando Echeverría, the deputy for the department of Flores, Armando Castaingdebat, the mayor of Ismael Cortinas, Agustín Musa, the general secretary of the Municipality María Noel Villalba, the general coordinator of the Area of Decentralization and Social Cohesion, María de Lima, the Director of Works of the Municipality of Flores Miguel Reyes, departmental mayors, councillors, other local authorities and neighbors of Ismael Cortinas.
María de Lima indicated that “this project shows what we wanted to be reflected from the Planning and Budget Office, which is the commitment of the Departmental Government, with the Municipal Government through a municipalized Interior Development Fund (FDI). She also reflected on the importance of “this message of union of work and articulation to recover a public space, which serves for the enjoyment of the community, but also for the economic development of the locality.”
Once the oratory by the authorities was over, the musician Jorge Franca paid tribute to the Rider Juan Valdez, who gave his name to the Municipal Park. A video was then shown showing the entire work process that led to the park being enjoyed by the entire population.
