The Antecedent Employment Indicator (Iaemp), measured by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), increased 4.5 points from March to April this year. As a result, the indicator reached 79.5 points, the highest level since December 2021 (81.8 points).
Iaemp anticipates trends in the labor market, based on interviews with consumers and entrepreneurs in the industry and service sectors.
According to FGV, in April the seven components of the Iaemp contributed to the rise in the indicator, with emphasis on the current situation of the services business (up 1.6 points) and industry (up 1.2 points).
