The executive director of Strategic Interventions in Public Health of Junín, Gisella Velásquez Gamarra, specified that so far this year around 200 cases have been reported in Pichanaqui and Pangoa. To date there is one case of death that is being investigated.
“There is a trend of increase compared to previous years of between 3 to 4% of cases, we must bear in mind that the highest season is the first three months of the year and November, and December, that is why we are working on the promotional preventive part, in coordination with local governments”, said the specialist.

“There are symptoms that can make them suspect that they have this infectious disease, such as intense headache, accompanied by fever and general malaise, nausea, vomiting and pain throughout the body. In this case, you should go to the nearest health center and not self-medicate”, recommended Velásquez Gamarra, to avoid more serious cases.
