The Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, Juan Cabandieparticipated this Wednesday by videoconference in the act by the International Day of the Wildfire Fightera meeting that took place in the city of saint Louiswhere the training certificates were also delivered to the members of the new Central National Brigade.
On the occasion, Cabandié greeted the forestry combatants on their day and remarked that “it is special for us to make this recognition in the province of San Luis, which is a beacon, which cares for nature, natural assets and has the governor’s worldviewAlberto Rodriguez Saa).
“25 years passed for the creation of the second Base that will be in San Luis, strategically located in the Central Region. We will continue to work side by side as we have done up to now with the brigade members of San Luis Solidario“said the minister.
Cabandié also congratulated the authorities of the National Fire Management Service (SNMF) for “their dedication and knowledge” and added that “it is exciting to be part of shaping the path of the SNMF as we are doing with great professionalism, incorporating equipment, clothing and new technologies such as conservation lights, improving working conditions and infrastructure. In addition, we doubled the number of personnel in the national brigade,” he added.

Along the same lines, Rodríguez Saá expressed: “We are happy that they have chosen San Luis to pay this tribute to the brigade members who fight against the fire. We are all the time in fear of fires, but we also have the security of having brigade members, tools and planes”. “It is a kind of peace of mind to know that we are all together in the same boat and we have to continue on this path to work together”, closed the San Luis governor.
At the event, the training certificates for the courses on fire environment and meteorological danger of forest fires were delivered to the members of the new Central National Brigade. In addition, equipment and tools for the body of combatants were presented and helmets and backpacks were delivered to brigade members of the National Parks Administration (APN).
During the administration led by Juan Cabandié, the National Fire Management Service (SNMF) increased its budget constantly, allocating $8 billion to the prevention and combat of forest fires.
This set of resources invested is part of the strengthening of the SNMF, in which the brigadistas play a fundamental role in combating fires.
