AMP presents results of the verification of payments of labor liabilities made to former port workers


These payments consist of the years 1996, 2006 and 2010, the files were examined, which allowed determining that the required labor liabilities (vacation, proportional vacation, vacation for the first 40 hours, seniority bonus, assignment of functions, changes in stage, compensation and XIII month) plus 10% annual interest for late payment, were paid in full.

The presentation of the results of the verification of the payments of labor liabilities made to 2,276 former port workers, was made effective by the Panama Maritime Authority, which amount to an approximate total of 76 million balboas.

After an exhaustive verification of the payments made to these former port workers for the privatization of the Balboa and Cristóbal ports, as contemplated in Law No. 5 of January 16, 1997 and Law No. 12 of May 5 2006, it was found that the claimed labor liabilities have already been paid.

These payments consist of the years 1996, 2006 and 2010, the files were examined, which allowed determining that the required labor liabilities (vacation, proportional vacation, vacation for the first 40 hours, seniority bonus, assignment of functions, changes in stage, compensation and XIII month) plus 10% annual interest for late payment, were paid in full.

The AMP will send a formal and individual communication to each of the former employees to whom they correspond.
