MIAMI, United States. – The Spanish airline World2Fly, owned by the Iberostar tourism group, intends to increase its weekly flights between Spain and Cuba to five, as reported on Tuesday EFE.

The goal is to reach about five weekly flights for next winter, Javier Leal, World2Fly’s director of Sales for Cuba, told that press agency, from the airline’s position at the International Tourism Fair (FITCuba)which is celebrated in Varadero.

According to the manager, Iberostar is a “holiday company whose main objective is to attract tourists to a sun and beach market” like Cuba, for which it has an Airbus A350, “one of the two most modern aircraft in the fleet.” said.

The new design of the aircraft allows a 25% reduction in fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, compared to other twin-aisle aircraft of the previous generation.

The airline operated its first Madrid-Havana flight on September 23, 2021. It recently opened a commercial office in Santa Clara.

World2Fly belongs to Iberostar, a group that has managed 17 Cuban hotels since 1993 in Havana, Cayo Largo del Sur, Varadero, Trinidad and the northern keys of Villa Clara and Ciego de Ávila.
