The National Meteorological Office discontinued the alert levels in some provinces, due to the decrease in rainfall, but warned that the rainfall will continue, at least until Wednesday in some regions, due to the incidence of a trough located near Cuba.
Onamet reported that, due to the decrease in rainfall, the “meteorological warning” that applied to the provinces of Barahona, Peravia, Juan Sánchez Ramírez, San José de Ocoa and Azua was discontinued.
The “warning” level is issued when the passage of a phenomenon through a demarcation is imminent.
However, this type of alert is maintained in the provinces of El Seibo, Hato Mayor and La Altagracia, according to the report of the meteorological agency, issued this Monday afternoon.
Likewise, a “green alert” continues for San Pedro de Macorís, Greater Santo Domingo, Monte Plata, San Cristóbal, Duarte, La Romana, Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez, according to the forecast.
Onamet reported that in regions such as the northwest, north, northeast and populations of the Central Cordillera, short-term downpours will continue to be recorded, due to the humidity left in its wake by said trough.
