The Investigative Police (PDI) arrested a suspect on Monday night for the shooting of the journalist from the Signal 3 of La Victoria Francisca Sandoval (30), who remains in serious condition. The attack occurred on Sunday in a march called by the Central Classista de Trabajadores, within the framework of Labor Day. Three other people were injured.
The PDI Homicide Brigade detained the suspect -identified as Marcelo Naranjo– in the commune of Pedro Aguirre Cerda. According Radio Bio BioProsecutor’s Office indicated that it will go to detention control this afternoon, for the crime of frustrated homicide.

Let us remember that on Monday the formalization hearing was held against two other defendants in the case, Yonaiker Fuenmayor Rondon (22) and Louis Salazar (31), both arrested on Sunday.
Fuenmayor and Flores were formalized for the crimes of unjustified shooting on public roads and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The Third Guarantee Court accepted the precautionary measure of total house arrest, required by the Public Ministry and the plaintiff. Meanwhile, the investigation period is 90 days.
The head of the Study Unit of the North Metropolitan Ombudsman, Octavio Sufan, indicated that the Prosecutor’s Office “has obtained the most burdensome precautionary measure to which it could aspire.” This, because the investigation of the PDI did not establish that the defendants had participation in the injuries of the victims.
“The two people detained today have no participation in the injuries, in the injuries that were generated with respect to a reporter and two more people who were in the demonstrations,” he commented.
