They will propose that Paraguay buy fuel from Venezuela

Hoy Paraguay

Members of the Board of Directors today receive Venezuelan deputies, to whom they will propose that Paraguay acquire fuel from Venezuela, despite Petropar’s debt with PDVSA.

This Tuesday morning will be the meeting at the headquarters of the National Congress, between members of the Board of Directors, the president of Petropar Denis Lichi, the person in charge of the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, Miguel Villalba and four Venezuelan deputies.

Although foreign legislators want Venezuela to rejoin Parlasur, national authorities will take advantage of the occasion to talk about the possibility of buying fuel.

The head of Congress, Óscar “Cachito” Salomón, explained that the intention is to acquire fuel at a more accessible price and to transfer that economic benefit to the people. “Paraguay today has the need to obtain cheaper oil and Venezuela can help us with that,” said the senator.

Paraguay carries a debt of 300 million dollars with PDVSA, so it is unknown how the Government of Venezuela could consider selling oil to our country.

To this is added the difference in criteria between the two countries, since Paraguay recognizes a debt of 300 million for 2023, however, Venezuela speaks of 500 million dollars with the collection of interest.
