The Emergency Operations Center (COE) holds six provinces on alert green for possible flooding, due to the approach of another trough that will affect the interior of the country, where downpours, electrical storms and gusts of wind are expected again.
The provinces on alert green are: María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, El Seibo, Samaná, La Altagracia and Hato Mayor.
In this sense, the National Office of Meteorology (Onamet) reports that a new trough located in the eastern part of Cuba will be generating downpours in Elías Piña, Dajabón, Valverde Mao, Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Hato Mayor, Samaná, Santiago and La Vega, and will extend to other nearby areas located in the northwest, northeast and in the Central Cordillera.
For this Tuesday, the southeast wind will drag humidity in the morning hours, which will cause cloudy increases with showers and possible thunderstorms on the Caribbean coast, including Greater Santo Domingo and the center of the country, after noon, says the Onamet.
While, for the northwest, northeast, Valle del Cibao, Cordillera Central and some points in the southeast, there will be cloudy developments accompanied by downpours, electrical storms and gusts of wind, due to the permanence of the trough in height that extends even beyond Wednesday.
The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) forecasts temperatures that will remain slightly warm during the day due to the southeast wind, which will be pleasant especially at night and early in the morning towards towns located in mountainous areas in the interior of the Dominican Republic.
