The National Energy Commission (CNE) published resolution number CNE-AD-0036-2022, which contains price recommendations for long-term power purchase contracts by distribution companies for renewable source projects. This, as ordered by Law No. 57-07 on Incentives for the Development of Renewable Energy Sources and its modification.
The analysis, carried out by the specialized technical body of the CNE, is based on the financial viability of investment projects in solar photovoltaic, wind, biomass, solid waste and mini-hydroelectric power plants, with the novelty of offshore wind and storage system technology, under the schemes described in Law No. 57-07.
The decision was approved by the Executive Board of the CNE, which is made up of five ministries and is chaired by the Minister of Energy and Mines, Eng. Antonio Almonte Reynoso.
This action endorses the state agencies in charge of contracting long-term energy purchases by EDES with renewable source projects, to consider the price recommendations issued by the CNE and propose it for the signing of said contracts, according to the prescriptions of the Decree 608-21 dated September 27, 2021.
Finally, the resolution is aligned with the provisions contained in Law No. 01-12, which establishes the National Development Strategy 2030. This seeks to ensure a reliable supply of electricity at competitive prices and in conditions of financial and environmentally sustainable economy.
Within the framework of transparency and fairness, this resolution complies with the work of the annual update of the reference prices indicated by Law 57-07, attached to the regulations that have a favorable impact on the reception of investment proposals in energy projects. renewable in the national electricity system.
