The President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, assured that the renegotiation of the Camisea gas contract will be done respecting the laws and without “kicking the board”, with the aim of massifying access to this service.
“We have started the renegotiation of the Camisea contract. I must reiterate that this process will be done within the legal and constitutional framework in force, without kicking the board but with responsibility. It is a social commitment and with justice “, stated during his presentation to CADE 2021.

The president pointed out that the prioritization is to massify natural gas starting with regions in the interior of the country such as Cusco, Puno, Apurímac, Arequipa, Moquegua, Tacna, Ayacucho, Ucayali and others.
“Peruvians not only have the right to have natural gas in their homes, but also to access fair prices”, he highlighted.
Pedro Castillo also mentioned the beginning of what the Government has called a “second agrarian reform”, of which he assured that it does not imply any type of confiscation or expropriation.
“It is a boost to rural connectivity and access to credit, support to our farmers, public food purchases, planting and harvesting of water in favor of more than two million rural men and women who were there for many years, for many decades, in oblivion”, He asserted.
