Marcos Riquelme: “At no time did I disrespect the referee”

Marcos Riquelme: "At no time did I disrespect the referee"

Always Ready striker Marcos Riquelme was sent off a few seconds before the 4 minute mark game, in the game that his team lost to Bolívar this Sunday afternoon. The match was played at the Villa Ingenio stadium, for date 12 of group B of the Apertura tournament.

Riquelme was first booked with a yellow card for claiming the tarijeño referee Jordy Alemán a decision that favored the La Paz academy.

“In that play, the line assistant charges lateral for them (Bolívar), but the referee calls a foul that he only saw her. I complained to him: why do you charge a foul if he is lateral? maybe a little excited, but at no time did I disrespect the referee and that’s why he gave me a yellow card, for the protest, ”Riquelme told various media when he left the Villa Ingenio stadium.

But things got bigger and it was even surprising that the Argentine attacker left his team with one man less as soon as the match began, for continuing to complain.

“When I was getting closer I feel that He grabs my arm and I made him let go I told him not to grab me, because if I grab the referee’s hand or put my hand on him, he will surely caution me. So why does he have the right to grab me? And when he grabbed me he reacted so that he would take his hand off me and there he showed me the second yellow card, ”explained the footballer.

Riquelme emphasized that at no time did he attack the judge of the commitment, clarifying some versions in the sense that the referee would have put on the list an aggression from the Argentine.

He also suggested that the referee should explain why he sent him off. “He writes what he wants (on the form)”, finished.
