The technical team of National Energy Commission (CNE) considered feasible the plan to massively install solar panels on Roofs presented by the Rocky Mountain Institute, the Lawyers Institute for Environmental Protection and the National Committee to Combat Climate Change.
In a press conference held at the CNE with the participation of 16 technicians from the agency, the energy expert from the Rocky Mountain Institute, Maximiliano Lainfiestapresented the plan.
The CNE technicians believed that it is possible to install in less than a year 600 megawatts of solar power in solar panels on roofs.
They suggested that the Fete fund could be a source of financing for the proposed plan.
He explained that with that amount of megawatts it would be produced close to 5% of the energy that the country uses in a year

It is recalled that the Association for the Promotion of Renewable Energies (Asofer) and the National Council for the Promotion and Support of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Promipyme) They signed a cooperation agreement to allow MSMEs to install solar energy projects.
This was revealed by the president of Asofer, Carlos Grullonwho highlighted that these loans will be soft and will have a cap of up to RD$7 million.
They are profitable projects
Asofer directors stressed that today the cost of installation is 1,000 dollars per kilowatt.
After the pandemic, the prices of machinery and equipment increased, for the costs of metals, labor and logistics.
Grullón said that despite this price increase, investment in solar energy projects recovers in three or four years, that is, it continues to be profitable. Before it took six or seven years.
