On the occasion of remembering Workers’ Day, this Sunday, May 1, an act will be carried out at the local level at the initiative of the united unions of Nueva Palmira.
Under the slogan “For the unity of those who move the wheel”, the event will take place at 10 am in Plaza Artigas, to which the entire community is invited to participate.
The proclamation will be: “against hunger and famine; for work, for salary; and in defense of social security”
“The fallen workers are commemorated in the claim of such a basic right that today we consider natural, such as the 8-hour workday,” the United Unions statement said.
“It is our daily challenge to recognize ourselves as members of the working class and from the humility of not believing ourselves to be more than anyone else, to fight for the unity of the workers, a solid unity from below that allows us to face the challenges that we have to live through” , they indicate.
