The Complaints and Denunciations Commission of the National Electoral Institute (INE) ordered the leadership of Morena to remove the phrase from their messages on social networks and other electronic platforms traitors to the country
in allusion to legislators opposed to the electrical reform.
Last Wednesday, the commission issued similar precautionary measures at the request of the PRI; in both cases they concluded that they are facing a possible slander and communication campaign that incites hatred. Now add a preventive guardianship
against the morenista leaders, considering that there are sufficient elements to suppose that these behaviors related to hate speech will be repeated.
The analysis was in response to a request from the PAN and 29 legislators, as well as two precautionary measures requested by federal deputies from the PRD (who alleged alleged political violence based on gender) against Mario Delgado and Citlalli Hernández, president and general secretary of Morena, respectively, in addition to Diego Hernández Gutiérrez, communication secretary of that party, for the dissemination of two videos on April 18, 2022 on Facebook and Twitter, in which, in the opinion of the complainants, they are slandered.
The counselors who are members of the Complaints Commission determined that the publications in which the expression PRI, PAN, PRD and MC are traitors to the country
They directly impute a crime for which the guilt of the denouncing political party or those who are part of it has not been pointed out, since it is an illegal act provided for in the Federal Penal Code.
The electoral body indicated that it is not an isolated or spontaneous demonstration that emerged or was issued exclusively in the parliamentary sphere, but that it transcended the legislative sphere and is now part of a possible partisan strategy or campaign that could provoke, in addition to slander, incitement to hatred. and violence against other actors and political forces.
