Inflation: Máximo Kirchner called on businessmen to "don't make a distracted face"

Máximo Kirchner highlighted the efforts of the State and the workers.

The national deputy and president of the Justicialist Party of the province of Buenos Aires, Máximo Kirchner, considered this Saturday that the ruling party “must interpret the desires of the people,” and demanded that the business sectors “stop putting on a distracted face time to stop the rise in prices”.

Those were the words of the leader when leading the closing of a union plenary that was held in the Buenos Aires district of Baradero on the eve of International Workers’ Day.

“One way to build a victory in 2023 is to understand 2019. That year the Front of All (FdT) interpreted our people and the pain of our people. We have to act in that sense. That is what we have to do. Interpret the desires of our people, understand that nobody here is a victim of anything,” said Máximo Kirchner.

The legislator affirmed that the coronavirus pandemic left “a painful mark” on the Argentine people, and affirmed that former President Mauricio Macri came to government as “the spearhead of economic power.”

The deputy indicated that “the media hid the worst face of Macri so that a society could be deceived” and urged “to be more alert than we were in 2015.”

The national deputy highlighted “the generosity and prudence of the Argentine workers who during the pandemic accepted a salary reduction so that the companies in which they worked could weather the storm.”

“And the State also put its shoulder through the ATP so that the link between employers and workers would not be broken. Two of these actors have shown the will to build a better country that integrates us all. Now it is necessary that the third actor says present in Argentine society once and for all because otherwise it is easy. The worker puts the salary, the state puts the ATP and now that prices have to be curbed, the business community puts on the face of I was not, “he remarked .

And in that sense, he added: “It is time for the financial and business sector to recognize that there are Argentine men and women who need them not to put on a distracted face.”

Kirchner alluded to Economy Minister Martín Guzmán, recalling that the official “says that he does his job, but does not get involved in these power disputes,” but affirmed that “the State must intervene in the face of inequalities.”

“So, what are we going to do? In the ocean, nothing prohibits the Krill from eating the whale, but finally it is the whale that eats the Krill; then it is where the State must appear so that this does not happen. It is where the State must intervene,” he said.

“We want unity because we know that we are invincible, but unity is not obsequious and it is not saying yes, when we know that things are not going well and there are things to change”Hugo Yaski

He also called on the workers and leaders to debate and to be “attentive and not get angry when there are issues discussed that stop the progress of a government that with all its problems tries to move forward.”

“Take these plenaries to every corner of the province to be able to have the thermometer of what is happening. When people participate, the bad is less bad and the good is more good,” he added.

With more than 600 union delegates who are part of the PJs of the 135 Buenos Aires municipalities present, Máximo Kirchner estimated that “if we live hiding behind the fact that the relationship of forces is very elusive and unequal -with economic power-, it does not seem like a justification but rather an alibi”.

From a stage with the iconic images of the PJ of the hugs of Juan Domingo Perón and Eva Perón and of Néstor Kirchner and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, the head of the Buenos Aires PJ maintained that “we want the construction to achieve the desires of the people not stop and move forward steadily so that Argentines can gradually improve their standard of living”.

Prior to the words of the president of the Buenos Aires PJ, the document containing two marked positions was read: support for the bill to create a special fund so that “the debt is paid by those who escaped it” and a demand that “there be concrete measures of economic policies and not social policies” in order to “really recover the wages and purchasing power of the workers”, according to the text.

In said document from the trade union branch of the Buenos Aires PJ, the Government was also asked for “salary increases by decrees” beyond those achieved by parity.

Like Máximo Kirchner, the national deputy and head of the CTA, Hugo Yasky, stressed that “Peronism is not a leadership leadership that asks businessmen for permission to distribute wealth. Peronism sets the conditions and does so with the people in the street”.

“We want unity because we know we are invincible, but unity is not obsequiousness and it is not saying yes when we know things are not going well and there are things to change,” Yasky said.

In a fiery speech, Lieutenant Governor Verónica Magario pointed out that “these are difficult times because inflation is eating up workers’ wages and that is why we have to be at the forefront of this fight.”

“The moral obligation is that we put ourselves at the forefront of the fight against the enemies of the workers, we are going for production, genuine work and salary recovery. We are going together because unity is what is going to make us win. we can surrender,” harangued the former mayor of La Matanza.

In the same sense, the general secretary of the Buenos Aires Graphic Federation, Héctor ‘Gringo’ Amichetti, stated: “Let’s not fight each other but rather with that enemy of economic power that highlights the prices and empties the table of the Argentines.”

In his turn, the mayor of Baradero and SMATA leader, Esteban Sanzio, pointed out that “the workers also have to give the discussion and do the impossible to maintain unity.” “Let’s fight everything and discuss everything, but behind closed doors, always thinking that the enemy is not among us,” the community chief stated.

The start of the day was in charge of the main union leaders of the provincial Peronism that promoted the meeting, such as the deputy and general secretary of the Federation of Judicial Workers Unions, Vanesa Siley, and the former legislator and general secretary of tanners Walter Correa, among others.

During his speech, Correa stressed that “if there is 2023 today, it is because there is this group of workers who do not give up, do not give in, continue fighting and continue to stand up. That is the example we have to give here today to to make history and for politics to understand that the workers have no other path than the victory and happiness of our people,” he concluded.

When analyzing the actuality of the workers, Siley maintained that “it is no coincidence that the prices and wages commission is the one that brought together the largest number of colleagues. It is because it is the discussion of the urgent need that the workers have.”
