The national deputy and president of the Justicialist Party of the province of Buenos Aires, Máximo Kirchner, considered this Saturday that the ruling party “must interpret the desires of the people,” and demanded that the business sectors “stop putting on a distracted face time to stop the rise in prices”.
Those were the words of the leader when leading the closing of a union plenary that was held in the Buenos Aires district of Baradero on the eve of International Workers’ Day.
“One way to build a victory in 2023 is to understand 2019. That year the Front of All (FdT) interpreted our people and the pain of our people. We have to act in that sense. That is what we have to do. Interpret the desires of our people, understand that nobody here is a victim of anything,” said Máximo Kirchner.

The legislator affirmed that the coronavirus pandemic left “a painful mark” on the Argentine people, and affirmed that former President Mauricio Macri came to government as “the spearhead of economic power.”
The deputy indicated that “the media hid the worst face of Macri so that a society could be deceived” and urged “to be more alert than we were in 2015.”
The national deputy highlighted “the generosity and prudence of the Argentine workers who during the pandemic accepted a salary reduction so that the companies in which they worked could weather the storm.”

Kirchner alluded to Economy Minister Martín Guzmán, recalling that the official “says that he does his job, but does not get involved in these power disputes,” but affirmed that “the State must intervene in the face of inequalities.”

With more than 600 union delegates who are part of the PJs of the 135 Buenos Aires municipalities present, Máximo Kirchner estimated that “if we live hiding behind the fact that the relationship of forces is very elusive and unequal -with economic power-, it does not seem like a justification but rather an alibi”.
From a stage with the iconic images of the PJ of the hugs of Juan Domingo Perón and Eva Perón and of Néstor Kirchner and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, the head of the Buenos Aires PJ maintained that “we want the construction to achieve the desires of the people not stop and move forward steadily so that Argentines can gradually improve their standard of living”.

In a fiery speech, Lieutenant Governor Verónica Magario pointed out that “these are difficult times because inflation is eating up workers’ wages and that is why we have to be at the forefront of this fight.”
“The moral obligation is that we put ourselves at the forefront of the fight against the enemies of the workers, we are going for production, genuine work and salary recovery. We are going together because unity is what is going to make us win. we can surrender,” harangued the former mayor of La Matanza.
In the same sense, the general secretary of the Buenos Aires Graphic Federation, Héctor ‘Gringo’ Amichetti, stated: “Let’s not fight each other but rather with that enemy of economic power that highlights the prices and empties the table of the Argentines.”
In his turn, the mayor of Baradero and SMATA leader, Esteban Sanzio, pointed out that “the workers also have to give the discussion and do the impossible to maintain unity.” “Let’s fight everything and discuss everything, but behind closed doors, always thinking that the enemy is not among us,” the community chief stated.

The start of the day was in charge of the main union leaders of the provincial Peronism that promoted the meeting, such as the deputy and general secretary of the Federation of Judicial Workers Unions, Vanesa Siley, and the former legislator and general secretary of tanners Walter Correa, among others.
During his speech, Correa stressed that “if there is 2023 today, it is because there is this group of workers who do not give up, do not give in, continue fighting and continue to stand up. That is the example we have to give here today to to make history and for politics to understand that the workers have no other path than the victory and happiness of our people,” he concluded.
When analyzing the actuality of the workers, Siley maintained that “it is no coincidence that the prices and wages commission is the one that brought together the largest number of colleagues. It is because it is the discussion of the urgent need that the workers have.”
