The Ministry of Health reported 2,124 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, with a positivity rate of 4.65% in the last 24 hours nationwide, after carrying out 45,958 exams, PCR and antigen tests. Daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region is 6.72%.
The variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is -10% and -35% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively. Meanwhile, all regions have decreased their cases in the last seven and 14 days.
As detailed by the health authority, of the total number of new cases, 33% are diagnosed by antigen tests, 40% originate from Active Case Search (BAC) and 20% of those notified are asymptomatic. As for the Metropolitan Region, it presents 26% due to antigen, 33% due to BAC and 17% of reported cases are asymptomatic.
According to sample collection, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are Metropolitan, Valparaíso, Magallanes and O’Higgins. Meanwhile, the Magallanes region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Atacama, Metropolitan and Valparaíso regions.
According to today’s report, of the total new cases of Covid-19, 1,258 correspond to symptomatic people and 322 do not present symptoms. In addition, 705 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the virus in the country reaches 3,558,631. Of this total, 9004 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 3,492,804.
As for the deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 18 deaths from causes associated with the disease caused by coronavirus. The total number of deaths amounts to 57,527 in the country.
To date, 221 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 166 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 320 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 45,958 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 37,001,758 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 4.65% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 6.72%.
Regarding the Sanitary Residences, we have 27 accommodation facilities, with a total of 2,467 beds. The actual occupation at the national level is 23%, leaving a total of 1,615 beds available for use.
