The Angirubot team from the Capiatá Cooperative Polytechnic College represented Paraguay in the FIRST LEGO LEAGUE world robotics competition, which took place in Houston, United States.
Paraguayan representatives participated in the competition that took place in Houston from April 20 to 23. Angirubot was the champion team of the National Tournament that took place in Paraguay last February and obtained the pass to participate in the world’s largest robotics world championship.
The students were recognized at the FIRST LEGO LEAGUE National Tournament for embracing the FIRST values, and achieving excellence and innovation in the 2021-2022 season Robot Game, Robot Design and Innovation Project, CARGO CONNECT.
In its participation in Houston, the team put its robot to the test in the Robot Game, and also presented an innovative project in the Evaluation Room that proposes the implementation of a container to transport parcels aboard public transport.
The initiative raised the possibility of reducing the cost of transporting parcels and encouraging public transport companies to receive more income from the service. To do this, they designed a space and a container on top of a bus where the packages can be stored.
The boys represented Paraguay in the largest event in the world, which annually brings together more than 2,400 participants from 110 countries.

The program introduces and encourages the learning of children and young people from 4 to 16 years of age to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through practical, fun and exciting learning.
Additionally, it encourages participants to think like scientists and engineers by gaining real-world problem-solving experiences and engaging students in robotics.
Every year, more than 480,000 students from 4 to 16 years old from 110 countries do their projects and take on challenges oriented to a real problem in the world. They then expose their research by designing, building, and programming a robot.
