A group of people protested at the doors of the Pro Santa Cruz Civic Committee to demand the suspension of the strike that its president Rómulo Calvo had announced hours before after the Government repealed Law 1386 that generated mobilizations in that region and in other parts of the country.

In the place there were moments of tension due to the explosion of firecrackers and the refrains that aimed at the civic leader, who also asked for his resignation.

“The only way this traitor (Calvo) comes out is with his resignation in hand,” one of the people shouted, while another said: “They are not going to negotiate the people’s struggle, traitor,” reported the Erbol network.

In the meantime, it transpired that Calvo and his board of directors were being held against their will in the institution’s building.

In the first instance, it had been attributed that the protest was promoted by Unión Juvenil Cruceñista (UJC), but this organization published a statement to rule it out.

On Tuesday night, the Minister of the Presidency, María Nela Prada, on behalf of the Government, announced that the incumbent president David Choquehuanca promulgated the rule that repeals Law 1386 and called on the sectors in conflict to resume their work.
